I think it's cool you went to Beijing. From the way you describe it, I would love the food and the prices and hate the eyesore architecture and smog. (Is it pretty grey there?). I hope to convince my mom, who speaks Mandarin, to go some day, though I think we would need a cultural attache, because getting around looks difficult.

Awesome Beijing recap (and well worth the wait). I am jealous that you were offered BUNS to enjoy with your duck. I am also jealous that you witnessed old man ice diving! There were no such shenanigans when the foreigners were in town for The Games.
